Description

Description

This half open build-in block is an ideal breeding ground for the common and black redstart, the grey flycatcher, the wagtail, the robin and the wren. Occasionally he is even inhabited by tits. The type of bird attracted by this nest depends on the location of the installation.

Siting

The build-in block can be integrated in new buildings or building renovations. The nest box (screws included) should preferably be mounted on a facade under the edge of the roof or gutter. It can also be mounted freely on a wall, at least 3m high. When installed in a cavity wall, the thermal insulation should run behind the wall. If you need to remove heat insulation, cut it generously around the box. In this case, fill the space behind the box with hard insulation material. The box should not hang in the sun all day. Nesting material is not required.

Maintenance

If the building blocks are easily accessible, the nests can be removed after the breeding season.
